JAIL BREAK III, the most anticipated and locally driven arts festival of Charleston is holding the city hostage April 14th, 2012. Artists of every medium are taking over The Old City Jail to transform this space of captivity into the crux of creativity. Musical giant, Slow Runner, joined by an impressive lineup of bands including: French Camp with Owen Beverly, Old You, Heyrocco, and more will sound the artistic seizure as painters take claim over the stone walls, dancers fill the space with rhythmic liberation, and artisans supply their collections of crafts and goods to a bevy of locals. The inmates are pulling out every stunt in their arsenal for the third JAIL BREAK as the festival promises to overload the senses and bring together the most fascinating and innovative talents in the community!
JAIL BREAK III takes place April 14th , 2012. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 day-of, $15 with a student id. Advanced tickets may be purchased at www.entropyarts.com. The event kicks off at 4 pm, and goes to 11pm. Artwork will be on sale by local artists and vendors. Food trucks will be on-site and alcohol will be available for purchase. The Old City Jail is located at 21 Magazine Street, 29401 in Charleston, SC.

Presented by Entropy Arts, JAIL BREAK 3, an all encompassing arts and music festival established to provide an outlet for local artists to present their work, will be held at one of the most unique venues in downtown Charleston. The Old City Jail will be converted into a gallery, displaying works by local visual artists and students from the ACBA as well as music and dance installations. Additionally, interactive festivities such as live painting, arts and crafts, and artisan booths will be held outside in the main yard of the former jail.
$25 participation fee. Artists will sell their own artwork and keep 100% of sales.
$50 fee and artisans will need to provide their own tables, tents and lighting. Upon submitting this form you will be asked to pay an entry fee of $50 for artisan booths.


This beloved band of the Charleston scene is back in town and here to rock our faces off for JAIL BREAK 3! Described by Paste Magazine as the "band that can mourn and bewail, then hope and ramble on, all with one hand on the blip-and-bloop button for good measure", Slow Runner is setting the tone for complete artistic and musical synthesis.
The unique instrumental group built on innovative and expansive collaborations between its members and members of every art forms, Entropy Ensemble is the vital blood source pumping through the veins of Jail Break. This group of musicians is the unofficial representative and inspiration for this equally unique and collaborative arts festival.
Old You displays a satisfying eagerness & a plump 'n' soulful mix of musical styles. Singer/guitarist Young-Mi Feldsott leads the way with thoughtful original tunes, drawing the attention of music fans & hipsters. The band has become a malleable band with a positive attitude and an ever-growing repertoire.
A band promising the revival of the sacredness of music from days past, French Camp led byOwen Beverly, a one-time Charleston local, deliver Indie rock that transcends the mindless and monotonous tunes of modern day radio, and moves the soul and the tapping foot in feel-good synchronization.
Heyrocco, an Indie trio with the interest and following of a small army in Charleston, is the newest addition to the JAILBREAK III lineup. The band will be bringing a sound and writing skills that showcase their exciting and refreshing creative abilities. With well-crafted songs and the melodic sensibility of veterans in the music industry, Heyrocco is not to be missed!
Ryan Bonner plays a Southern brand of alternative folk music with an indie rock edge that has drawn comparisons from Wilco to Whiskeytown. A multi-instrumentalist, Bonner plays guitar, piano, harmonica, mandolin and bass, and also owns/operates his own studio on James Island.
DanceFX Charleston, a subsidiary of Dancefx, Inc., is a not-for-profit dance organization dedicated to bringing professional quality, cutting-edge dance to the Charleston community while providing a continuing dance education and performance outlet for dancers and artists to express themselves creatively.
The Charleston Dance Project: Under the direction of Jenny Broe Price and Sara Cart, the Charleston Dance Project is Charleston's contemporary jazz dance company.
Slow Jamz Hip Hop Crew: A unique and unmatched experience for the sassy, seasoned and experienced hip-hop dancer interested in exploring new realms of hip Hop movement and developing great improvisational and performance skills.
The Modern Day Pin-Ups: The Dancefx Performance Ensemble that mixes contemporary and lively movement with the sexy, sophistication of the age of the pin-up.
Revolve Aerial Dance, founded by Julianna Hane in 2008, is a school and performing company specializing in circus apparatuses like aerial silks, sling, hammock and trapeze. Our classes are non-competitive and emphasize life-long health and creativity. We welcome men and women, young and not-so-young, and beginners through advanced aerialists.
Annex Dance Company is committed to promoting dance in its home location, as well as around the globe. Through performance, collaboration, outreach/ education, Annex Dance Company continues to evolve with each project. Under the artistic direction of Kristin A. Fieseler, the company strives to be an internationally recognized classical modern dance company, with an edge.
Homespun Hoops is passionate about making life fun through the art of hoopdance. As the original hooping company in the Lowcountry, they have been spreading the word about the benefits of hooping since 2007.
Inspiring his audience with the transformative qualities of his work in accessible spaces, Sackett specializes in reclaiming public space to facilitate constructive community dialogue through the art of graffiti!
